About Us

The World Outreach Foundation
Healthcare in the developing world is a huge issue. Access to heath care facilities is poor to non-existent in many parts of the World,  leaving huge numbers of people without even access to even the most basic care.

Conditions for which treatment is routine, and taken for granted in developed nations, often remain untreated and go on to blight the lives of those afflicted. This is especially true for children.

The World Outreach Foundation (WOF) was formed to develop alternative ways of delivering health care to the needy in the world, with the specific goal of developing a facility that would stay in the recipient countries. Great work has been done over the years providing treatment to those in need in the form of medical missions. These are invaluable in providing much needed services missions are a key part of WOF delivery strategy.

However our vision is to provide facilities that stay where they are needed and can be used on an ongoing basis.
This is accomplished with Mobile Health Units including clinics and an operating room that can then be brought to more remote areas of the recipient country.
This way, patients will not travel long distances to be cared for. Although they are separate and distinct organizations, the Foundation was formed in conjunction with the Kansas City World Outreach Lions Club. Both organizations were founded By Drs. Antonio and Luz Racela.
Effective healthcare isn’t just about treatment. Prevention is better than cure! We have expanded to health promotion by promoting the use of nutritional supplements where there is malnutrition and protein deficiency using locally available products like Moringa leaves. We have embarked on a Demonstration Farm and a feeding program, to promote effective nutrition in support of improved healthcare facilities.
World Outreach Lions Club, Inc. was incorporated as a non-profit organization in the state of Missouri on March 18, 2004. It received certification as a 501-c-3 non-profit organization on May 12, 2004, changing it’s name to the World Outreach Foundation Kansas City on August 9th 2007.
